Location: Backstage.
Time: The clock says 13:37 (wow... picked a random time and managed to pick leet... weird)
Scene: A pair of double doors in a corridor. Not much else can be said. Suddenly the doors burst open and in walk two men, one tall and slim the other even taller and heavily built. Those who are familiar to the wrestling world will recognise one or other of these men. The big man is Milo Holland whilst the shorter is his brother Dave, entrant to the nCw road to the gold tournament.
Dave: ...you're not understanding the context, ok so you weren't immediately put through tot he tournament with me, and yes we weren't put up for a tag match together but that's because you're not a name around here yet.
Milo: Oh and you are?
Dave: Milo.. take a deep breath will you? *Deep breath in, breath out* This place is brand spanking new, still got that new fed smell. No one's been here before but us and maybe a few of the other superstars but considering this fed's only been open for like a week, I'd say we're getting in pretty much at the ground floor. A lot of the top guys came over from WCF where I was starting to make a name for myself. It's not my fault they've not heard of you or seen what you can do yet!
Milo: Ok! God, I don't know why you're explaining this to me, all I said was "I guess this is the place".
*Dave has to pause a moment as he thinks of a reply explaining his unecessary rant*
Dave: It was the way you said it is all.
Milo: Heh... you're sounding more and more like a woman every day.
Dave: You're just jealous 'cause I've got one.
*Dave points to the ring on his finger*
Milo: .... Dude... that's just cold.
Dave: I know. But you're a big tough guy, you'll get over it.
Milo: So what's the plan?
Dave: Well I was thinking maybe head to the cafeteria, see what they've got on offer and if they've got nothing then we could go to that place down the street I spotted and have a look...
Milo: I didn't mean lunch.. though I'm intruiged about that place down the street... anyway I meant in your match again... lazy? crazy?
Dave: Craven. And you'd do well to watch your manners.
Milo: Sorry. Been a long time since I've had to be on best behaviour.
Dave: Don't be sorry, just don't do it again. Anyway I fought Craven back in WCF a few weeks back. Tough fight. One of the toughest I had there that wasn't throwing me against world or former world champions. It was me, lance ryan, him and Jason Anderson.
Milo: Isn't he from...
Dave: Yes Milo. Yes he is. Anyhow I don't remember the details but I remember the outcome. I won that match when there were two other people to distract me and keep an eye on. I'm not going to be overly concerned about facing him on his own. He knows to respect me and I know not to disrespect him. However he's also a man with a motive. He's going to be out to show the world that my win over him wasn't all it was cracked up to be. That he can take a hit on the chin, move on and improve. He's going to be dangerous to face off against.
Milo: I could make him less dangerous between now and then.
*Dave smacks Milo round the head.*
Dave: No! Bad Milo! That's not the way we do things and you know it. He said so himself, we didn't need a four-way to bring down the house that night, we could've done it just the two of us. This sunday we're going to do just that. I'd be lying if I said I had no interest in the gold because let's face it everyone wants it especially when it's for the very first heavyweight title to be crowned here. But I'd also be lying if I said it was my number one priority. I'm out for one thing only. Entertainment value. If I perform at the top of my ability, if my opponent performs at the top of theirs, if the match is talked about for weeks, months, years to come, I go away a very happy man. Are you going to make me a happy man Craven?
Milo: What? I'm not Craven.
Dave: Not you... the camera.. I'm talking to Craven for when he sees this. Why do you always have to ruin these moments?
Milo: I dunno. Boredom. Hunger... something like that.
Dave: Alright, I can take a hint. Let's go get lunch.
Milo: About damn time too.
*The two disappear off camera. A moment passes and the camera turns to see just Dave on his own*
Dave: One final thing, Johnny. Do you mind if I call you Johnny? You can go away and watch those DVD's. You can watch everything I've done and everything I've said but I can garuntee something here. You'll never understand me. Not like the way you want to anyway. You'll see matches from my past.. matches against men some would call far superior to me. You'll see the match many years ago between myself and Milo there. That match where he threw everything he could at me to knock me down, and couldn't. You'll watch the dragon's den match.. a barbed wire hell in a cell with weapons thrown in for good measure. You'll watch as I tear the flesh from my hands as I remove myself from that collapsed cell wall and crawl back into the match. While watching them you might think 'but he didn't win'. And you'd be right some of the time. But what you should focus on is why I never lost. Even when I fell I never lost and do you know why? Because of one thing.
*Dave raises his index finger to the camera*
Dave: And one thing alone. I always got back up. Now bear that in mind when you watch and ask yourself 'why does he keep getting up?' That's a question I've bene asked many times and every time I answer I get confused looks from people who don't get me. I keep getting back up because I Can, and because I Will. I say that and half the people say that doesn't answer the question while the others try to rationalise it like a philosophy to no real effect. Only one person has understood what I meant and that person is now the one person I trust and believe in more than anyone in the whole world. He saw how far that fact applies to me when he saw me stand up from the wheelchair that he himself put me in and the medical world believed I'd stay in for the rest of my days.
Milo: Dave.. you coming?
Dave: Just a sec Milo.
*Dave gets up close and personal to the camera*
Dave: So you watch those DVD's. Don't expect them to reveal my secrets. Don't expect them to hold the key you're looking for. That is held by two men alone.
*Dave winks down the camera with his usual smile before darting off and chasing after Milo. Dave leaps and grabs Milo in a headlock as they continue on their way, play fighting as brothers do from time to time. Milo forces him off and carries on like nothing happened*
Milo: So what was that about?
Dave: Ah nothing. Just wrapping up loose ends.
Milo: The whole Holland Philosophy huh?
*Dave pauses again... then realises he can't hide anything from his brother even when he tries.*
Dave: Yeah.
Milo: ... Nice.
*The Brothers head for where they believe there'll be food. Will they find any? Tune in next time.... or will there even be a next time? Tune in next time to see!*
