~*~*~Round one is now in the books. Some men's dreams have been dashed, and other's dreams shall continue. The road to the nCw Championship is officially underway and in the end only one man will remain and he will then be chased by all of the also-rans. One of the men whose chase continues is Lance Ryan. A multi-time heavyweight champion, but a relative newcomer to nCw. Lance has not endeared himself to the fans, and this week he did little to help himself make friends, he did make some allies, but at the same time, he made some enemies. This coming week, four men that have moved on to the next round in the Championship Challenge will be in the same ring. Lance will be teaming with a man that he knows well, JJ Biggs. The two of them will be taking on The Tank and Davey Ortega in a tag match that was created based upon the hell that broke loose last week on Collision. Only time can tell what this coming week holds when these four climb into the ring together.~*~*~
~*~*~The scene opens and we see Lance Ryan in the gym that he owns. There is nobody else in the building other than him and he is punching away at one of the punching bags. There is loud music playing, Linkin' Park. Lance is punching to the music. Lance is wearing a black pair of sweat pants and a white beater. It can be easily seen that Lance has been going through a rigorous workout because his beater is wet with sweat and water. Lance finishes his attack on the punching bag and then stops to check his pulse. He pulls his hand away from his neck and then walk over and starts to do some stretches. As he is cooling down we hear another voice and the camera pans out enough so that we can see that Matt has entered the room. Matt is wearing his usual, a pair of blue jeans and a casual black t-shirt.~*~*~
Matt:
(Yelling over the music)
I SAID GREAT JOB THIS WEEK! YOU TOOK CARE OF BUSINESS AND SHOWED WHAT YOU ARE MADE OF!
~*~*~Lance smirks at Matt and then walks over to the stereo and turns the music off.~*~*~
Lance:
Thanks, I thought that that was a hell of a workout tonight too.
~*~*~Matt looks at Lance and seems completely lost.~~*~
Matt:
...I said, great job on Collision this week. You laid a beating on Tyme, and then shocked the world by allying yourself with JJ Biggs. I never thought that the two of you would be on the same page again. You two have quite the past together.
Lance:
Oh. Thanks. Well, don't set your DVD Recorder for Team Ryan and Biggs. He was not even on my radar. He just happened to be in the right place to benefit from my attack. Biggs and I will never be on the same page, there is too much history there. There is no way that I could ever trust him to watch my back, not after...
~*~*~Lance trails off and is staring at Matt as he realizes that Matt has screwed up look on his face.~*~*~
Lance:
You know...I know that you have something to say, and I really wish that you would tell me EVERYTHING when these damn cameras are rolling. You really make me seem like a dope on television when you leave me out of the loop. So, out with it.
Matt:
Well, this week it is you and JJ Biggs teaming up against The Tank and Davey Ortega. It is the main event of Collision. So, I certainly hope that you and Biggs can co-exist to some extent.
Lance:
I see. You do realize that the last two times that we were in the ring together we were opponents and Biggs got the better of me right? I am not sure that I can get over that and trust him to watch my back in this match. I have no bones going up against The Tank and Omega
Matt:
Ortega
Lance:
Whatever. The bottom line is that I am always up for a fight, and neither of them impressed me all that much with their skills anyway. I mean, quite frankly I do not think that the two of them are close to the same page anyways. They both have egos the size of Texas, and will not be able to forget this tournament long enough to focus on our match. Besides that, have you seen this Tank guy? I wouldn't bet on his brain being much bigger than the snot I blow out of my nose in the morning. Sure, he chased Biggs and I off, but his "save" sure took long enough. Probably took him that long to register that he should do something about the beating.
And as far as Ortega goes, honestly, I have been here for one week and if I hear his name one more time I think I am going to puke. Neither of these two frightens me in the least.
Matt:
Are you certain? I mean, you did run off pretty quickly when Tank hit the ring.
Lance:
There is a time and a place for everything, and last week was neither the time nor the place for me to make an example out of him.
Matt:
Ok, it just looked like fear in your eyes and...
Lance:
Listen, hit the bricks Matt, I don't have the patience for you today and I have a few things to say to Ortega and that giant pile of mush Tank.
~*~*~Matt looks a little frustrated as he walks off. Lance takes his beater off and sits down on one of the weight machines.~*~*~
Lance:
Now then. Tank, my business in this match is really with you. You stuck your nose in my business, and that is something that does not go unpunished. You see, I have seen and defeated so many people like you in my illustrious career. Big guys with no brains are a dime a dozen. You come and go. Every federation always has at least one resident monster that they build up to the fans. The fans always get behind him, they are fickle and will pop for every clothesline that he gives and every useless power slam that he delivers. Sure, you are the flavor of the month, but at the end of the year you will be gone, and I will remain at the top.
There is only one thing that guys like you do effectively, and that is take time away from the true stars of the show. Men with talent, men with ability, men that know how to get ahead in the business. That is what you will discover when we get into my yard this Sunday, you will come to terms with your fate...that fate is destruction. You see Tank, darkness is upon you. You have ventured into the shadows, from where one never returns the same.
~*~*~Lance gets up and heads for the locker room, and continues to talk as he is walking.~*~*~
Lance:
Ortega, as for you, I have heard the talk, I have seen the walk. Apparently you think that you are something special. I have a wake up call for you, I don't.
You see, you can learn from what I just said about Tank. This business between Biggs, Tank and I, it is personal now, and it has nothing to do with you. If you were smart, you would stay clear of Collision, if you value your shot at the title, it would be imperative. I can promise you only one thing if you decide to show up on Sunday...you will get hurt.
There is one thing that really bugs me about you fan favorite types, and that is that you do not know how to take advantage of a great opportunity. Tank is the competition here, and Biggs and I will waste him, we all know that. Why wouldn't you "miss your flight" or "get stuck in traffic" and allow the inevitable to take place? One less challenger benefits everyone, including you...I trust that you will make the right decision...you haven't yet ventured into the darkness, but your decisions have brought you to the fringe. I thrive in the dark, Biggs will thrive in the dark. You do not stand a chance there. The reality is that real stars shine in the dark, and weak stars are shot down.
~*~*~Lance closes the door to the locker room behind him as the scene fades out.~*~*~
~*~*~Questions abound going into Collision. Will all hell break loose again? Can Biggs and Ryan co-exist? Can Tank and Ortega co-exist? Will Ortega show up or allow Tank to fizzle? Time will tell now, what the future has in store. What do the others involved have to say?~*~*~
