11:50 PM.
Atlanta, Georgia.
It’s another dark scene. Not by purpose but by time of day. Ten minutes till midnight. If it wasn’t for one of the giant spot lights in the middle of this parking lot, we wouldn’t be able to see at all. The high beam leaves a silver circle in the middle of the parking lot where a blue mustang sits in park, spread out across two parking spaces. Leaning against it, looking almost at peace with himself for once this month was Steve Awesome. Blue jeans and a hoodie, the zip up kind, and the hood over his head. He takes a deep breath.
“Yeah. I came early. I just wanted to see what it looked like. I was curious to see if it matched the vision in my head. It’s even better.”
He pauses again. Taking more time to take in the view.
“I never really believed in God and Jesus and all that stuff but now that I’m here, and I breathe in what this place represents, what it will represent in a matter of twenty four hours or less, I finally found my sanctuary.”
He takes another deep inhale and just nods a satisfied nod.
“I just feel right, here. Everything makes more sense now that I’m here. I’ve known what’s been coming for weeks now, what was on the line and what I had to do to accomplish it, but now that I’m here it’s so much clearer.”
He holds his arms out.
“Look at it Trent. This is where it’s going to go down. Me, you, here in the street, fighting it out like dogs for the heavyweight championship of the world. It’s going to be hell Trent. Because I’m going to make it Hell.”
“And that’s about it.”
He smirks.
“There isn’t much more that I can say really. Nothing that I haven’t said already. Tomorrow night, it’s finally about to happen.”
"You end."
“And the future begins."
Static.
