I'm a big football guy. I've been watching a ton of preseason football and have been looking at the injuries and the story lines.
I can see the Cowboys ruling the NFC East if the Eagles and Giants don't screw everything up and be good again.
NFC West is a take your pick because none of those teams really blow my skirt up, but Seahawks will have their moments.
NFC North is the Vikings hands down. The Bears have no O and the D is going to do better if they can stay healthy. Lions are the Lions and a Farve-less Packers equals no playoffs for you but if Grant owns everybody then they have a playoff chance.
NFC South is a three way dance. I give the edge to the Bucs simple because Steve Smith likes to punch his teammates and the Saints have Shockey.
Moving on to the AFC East, Pats will rule once again but I hope that the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets can give them a run for their money. The Fins could sneak up and steal a game or two. Bills will do the same.
In the AFC West, we've got the Raiders of the Lost Art of Winning. They could be a so-so team which is a big improvement. They might even break .500! I like the coach and most of the players, hate the management... in other words, Al Davis needs to just stay home. Chargers will win the division but Broncos will be ok and Chiefs will do better.
Now to the AFC North with my favorite non Cowboys team, the Browns. I love the O and the D will be much better I think. Steelers are the Steelers and will kick butt. Ravens are changing coaches and the Bengals haven't been in as much trouble with the law. Should be a great race to see who wins this division. My gut says Browns but brain says Steelers.
Last but not least, the AFC South. Home of three play-off teams last year. Thats right; Colts, Jags, and Titans all went to the play-offs. I can see the same happening this year. Colts are really good, the Jags are better this year I think and Matt Jones figured out how to be like Michael Irvin, get busted for coke and kick butt the following season. Lets just hope that it's only this once for the coke part and can play without the drug charge. For some reason I can't find faults in the Titans either. If Vince Young can get this passing thing figured out, they could cause alot of damage. Oh, the Texans. How could I forget about the Texans! Oh yeah, that's how. They could do some things this year but they are about two years away from being great. Final call: Colts win the division, Jags get a Wild Card birth with the Titans just falling short of the playoff due to any upset by the Texans.
I'll skip the hole play-off picture and go right to the Super Bowl. The Cowboys versus the up start Browns who pull a Steelers from a few years ago and win all the play-off games on the road. (Being a Cowboy fan, I can't give the Giants props for last year's fluke. It should have been the Cowboys beating the Pats! But good job to the Giants for not losing.) In a rematch of week 1, the Cowboys win a thrilling shootout by two.
There you have it. Cowboys win it all. Or as JR Jim Ross would say... "Cowboys win! Cowboys win! Cowboys win!" or he might say "Cowboys! Cowboys! Cowboys!"
That's the NFL post. College football one will... no wait, it's all politics in college so it will be either USC or Ohio State vrs. the champ of the SEC with the SEC winning. I've seen this movie before... oh wait, that's right last two years... If Ohio State goes to the Champ game and gets stomped again, they should be banned from the game for 10 years and have to kiss the feet of every SEC school... Even Ole Miss' feet.

For what it's worth, these are my predictions...
AFC East 1. New England - Although I highly despise them, they have way too much talent not to win the division. 2. Buffalo Bills - This is a team on the rise IMO. Good young QB and RB to lead the offense, defense isn't half bad. 3. New York Jets - Eh, I don't see anything really solid about them at all, even with the inclusion of Brett Farve. 4. Miami Dolphins - I see them getting three wins this year.
AFC North 1. Cleveland Browns - The offense got even better and the defense got a few key additions. It all hinges on Derek Anderson. 2. Pittsburgh Steelers - Almost the same team as last year. Burger Boy needs to stay upright for them to get anywhere. 3. Cincinnati Bengals - Let's see how many players get arrested this year. 4. Baltimore Ravens - Their offense isn't settled at all. Defense is getting older.
AFC South 1. Indianapolis Colts - As long as Manning is healthy, you can't ever go against these guys. 2. Jacksonville Jaguars - Another team on the rise. They could take the division if they get a few breaks. 3. Houston Texans - I see this team having a winning record this year, as long as Andre Johnson stays healthy. 4. Tennessee Titans - I'm not sold on Vince Young and he has no help at WR. Defense is great though.
AFC West 1. San Diego Chargers - LT, that's all. 2. Denver Broncos - They're usually solid year in and year out but go nowhere. This won't be different. 3. Oakland Raiders - Of course, Russell and McFadden are the keys for the offense. Defense looks better then last year. 4. Kansas City Chiefs - They hardly have anything going for them at this point. It's gonna be a miracle to see them out of the bottom.
Wild Cards: Jacksonville and Pittsburgh
AFC Champions: San Diego finally gets over the hump and goes to the dance.
NFC East: 1. Dallas Cowboys - They've invested A LOT into this team. They have the talent but will it come together in the playoffs? 2. Philadelphia Eagles - A healthy McNabb makes this team win. If not, watch the free fall. 3. New York Giants - Jeremy Shockey not there is gonna hurt them more then they think. Plus Eli is still erratic. 4. Washington Redskins - This team could go 8-8 and still finish last. That shows you how stacked this division is.
NFC North: 1. Minnesota Vikings - As long as AP stays health and Jackson progresses, the offense should be better then last. Defense is ace. 2. Green Bay Packers - No Favre = No Chance 3. Detroit Lions - Please, get rid of Jon Kinta. That's all. 4. Chicago Bears - I think a kid playing high school ball is better then Grossman or Orton. Defense is going downhill too.
NFC South: 1. New Orleans Saints - If Deuce is good to go, they win the division. If not, they still will. Defense needs to get better though. 2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - They needed more WR help and didn't get it but the defense still looks fantastic. 3. Carolina Panthers - The offense is gonna be dreadful for the first two weeks. Maybe more if Delhomme isn't back to form. Defense is on a free fall too. 4. Atlanta Falcons - They'll be luck to see two wins this year. This team has nothing.
NFC West: 1. Arizona Cardinals - You're reading this right. They're a good team, no matter who is behind center. Defense looks improved. 2. Seattle Seahawks - Should be interesting to see how they do without Shaun Alexander these days. 3. St. Louis Rams - Good offense, questionable defense... same thing every year. 4. San Fransisco 49ers - Looks like Mike Martz is gonna destroy another team with his offense. Defense is meh.
Wild Cards: Seattle and Minnesota
NFC Champions: Dallas Cowboys get it
Super Bowl: San Diego 23 - Dallas 21
MVP: Tom Brady (New England)
Rookie of the Year: Chris Long (St. Louis)
Comeback Player of the Year: Brett Farve (New York Jets)
Coach of the Year: Ken Whisenhunt (Arizona)

AFC East 1. New England - Sitting atop the AFC East, the Pats will win the division, There is no way they should lose given their pass offense. I'll predict Divison losses to Buffalo and The Jets Prediction:12-4 Division Champions.
2. Buffalo Bills - A young, hungry team, excluding another horrible injury-plagued season (and a lighter schedule) Wild Card is a high possibility. Prediction: 10-6 Wild Card
3. New York Jets - Brett Favre should double the Jets wins alone. That give them .500. About as good as they will get Prediction: 8-8 No Playoffs.
4. Miami Dolphins - If noodle-armed QB Chad Pennington is the best you came come up with, you're reaching. With holes all over the D, An O with only Ronnie Brown, Maybe a couple of extra wins this year Prediction: 4-12 No Playoffs
AFC North 1. Pittsburgh Steelers - I say it based on Big Ben's health, and a still very talented D. Prediction: 11-5 Division Champions
2. Cleveland Browns - They have the hardest schedule this year, and only a slightly upgraded D. Secondary is mediocre at best, offense will have to carry the load. Prediction:9-7 No Playoffs
3. Cincinnati Bengals - Still a dynamic offense, but a piss-poor D will likey lead to a .500 season Prediction: 8-8 No Playoffs
4. Baltimore Ravens - QB situation is in shambles The best best is Joe Flacco, but with Baltimore you never know, The D is not as good as it once was, and not getting any better. Do these guys expect Ray Lewis to play forever? Prediction:6-10 No Playoffs
AFC South 1. Indianapolis Colts - Peyton Manning is still the man, but his D has to improve this year, or it will be another quick exit from the playoffs Prediction: 11-5 Division Champions
2. Jacksonville Jaguars - David Gurrard is the key. He proved last year he's incredibly accurate and has no-name recivers looking like superstars. MJD and Fred Taylor are the anchors, the D may take a hit from not have Stroud but should still be very good. Prediction:10-6 Wild Card
3. Tennesee Titans - If Vince Young got help at WR, look out. I see somebody stepping up for them, maybe Crumpler, but not enough to get a run in this stacked division Prediction: 9-7 No Playoffs
4. Houston Texans - Matt Shaub is pretty good, but no Manning or Brady, If Ahman Green is still a NO.1 Option at RB, you've got problems. Defense needs to show drastic improvements for them to even post a winning record. Prediction:7-9 No Playoffs
AFC West 1. San Diego Chargers - They are head and shoulders above everyone in this division, KC and Oak have made some improvements, not enough to compete though. Prediction: 13-3 Division Champions.
2. Denver Broncos - Jay Culter needs a breakout season, not seeing it this year, WR took a hit, and D has Champ and really nobody else. Prediction:7-9 No Playoffs
3. Oakland Raiders - If Russell and Walker connect, they will take over third in the divison McFadden and Fargas could make a good 1-2 Punch. D got Hall to sure up a steller D Prediction: 5-11 No Playoffs
4. Kansas City Chiefs - If Larry Johnson struggles, The Chiefs will fall to the bottom, I'm banking on LJ holding up his end, it's the D that worries me, secondary is average, not big LB, no front four. Prediction: 5-11 No Playoffs
Wild Cards: Jacksonville/Buffalo/Pittsburgh/Indianapolis
NFC East: 1. Dallas Cowboys - For Some Reason I want them to win, but I know it won't happen. On paper, they look amazing, but something always trips them up, they're like A movie villian, you know they lose, but you still wanna root for them. Prediction:12-4 Division Champions
2. Washington Redskins - I like Jim Zorn's playcalling so far, keep it up, and the playoffs will be a repeat. Prediction: 10-6 Wild Card
3.New York Giants - The G-men may make the playoffs, but with no Strahan, and an average secondary, it won't be easy, Eli needs a career year Prediction: 9-7 Wild Card
4. Philidelphia Eagles - I still don't believe even a healthy McNabb will be able to fly in this stacked division Prediction: 7-9 No Playoffs.
NFC North: 1. Minnesota Vikings - They just need a Go-To reciver or tight end to be set like San Diego. D is on point. Prediction:11-5 Divsion Champions.
2. Green Bay Packers - IMO Aaron Rodgers has never played well until last year against Dallas. And in pre-season he's an INT machine. D is young and inexpierienced. They will regret not letting Favre back. Prediction:8-8 No Playoffs
3. Chicago Bears - D is still good, Grossman may play an '06 season again, but I'm leaning towards '07. Loss of Berrian hurts. Prediction:6-10 No Playoffs
4. Detriot Lions - Too many holes and questions everywhere. WTF is Matt Millen doing? Jon Kitna predicted 10 wins last year, he won't get half of that this year. Prediction: 4-12 No Playoffs
NFC South: 1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Tampa-2 D keeps on going. But if Jeff Garcia gets injured, a losing season looms. Prediction:9-7 Division Champions (Wild Card)
2. New Orleans Saints - D needs to step-up. Still in need of big play WR. Didn't that guy Stallworth play here? Why'd they let him go? Prediction: 9-7 No Playoffs (Due to season sweep by Tampa)
3. Carolina Panthers - Not sold on Jake at QB, Defense is not as good as Super Bowl Year, Only Steve Smith can catch. Prediction:5-11 No Playoffs
4. Atlanta Falcons - Matt Ryan can't catch a break, they desperatly need a WR threat, and there isn't one here. Michael Turner can't carry this O Alone. D lost Hall, huge gaps in secondary. Prediction:3-13 No Playoffs
NFC West: 1. Seattle Seahawks - The best of a medicore Bunch wins them the division by default. Unless Hassleback gets hurt. Prediction:
2. Arizona Cardinals - A Shaky O-Line prohibts any further progress. D is still suspect. Prediction: 7-9 No Playoffs
3. St. Louis Rams - Seriously, upgrade this D Now. If they don't step up, .500 is being generous. Steven Jackson had better earn his new deal. Prediction:4-12 No Playoffs
4. San Fransisco 49ers - Mike Matrz wants a Run and Gun Offense...not in SF sir. Alex Smith isn't the QB and he has no WR. D is solid though. Prediction:4-12 No Playoffs
Wild Cards: Seattle/Giants/Redskins/Tampa Bay
Playoffs AFC Wildcard: Pittsburgh over Buffalo/ Indianapolis over Jacksonville
Division: New England Over Pittsburgh/ Indianapolis over San Diego
AFC Championship Indianapolis Over New England
NFC Wild Card: Tampa Bay over Washington/N.Y. Giants over Seattle
Division: Dallas over Tampa Bay/ Minnestoa over N.Y. Giants
NFC Championship: Dallas over Minnestoa
Super Bowl: Indianapolis 27 - Dallas 24
MVP: Tony Romo (4,000 pass yrds 39 TD passes)
Rookie of the Year (Offense): Darren McFadden (1100+ yrds Rushing) Rookie of the Year (Defense) Chris Long (12 Sacks)
Comeback Player of the Year: Shawn Merriman (assuming his injury keeps him out for 10-12 games, and he returns to form)
Coach of the Year: Jim Zorn (Redskins)

That video is so awsome! You can thank the U of Arkansas for the "Wild Hog" formation that the Fins used. Former Off Cord for the Hogs, David Lee, is now the Fins' QB coach and used it. He didn't come up with it, but he used it last year because of Run DMC Who now plays for the Raiders. To bad the Hogs suck this year. At least we gave the Fins' fans something to be happy about for at least one week.

Wow, the entire landscape of the NFL has changed since this thread was started.....
AFC EAST BUFFALO BILLS - Scrappy team with lots of heart NY JETS - Favre - enough said! NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS - No Brady...No team. MIAMI DOLPHINS - ugh
AFC NORTH PITTSBURGH STEELERS - Not a great team, but they find ways to win! BALTIMORE RAVENS - Not bad, but no offense...AGAIN! CLEVELAND BROWNS - Suck less than the Bengals. CINCINATTI BENGALS - just plain suck!
AFC SOUTH TENNESSEE TITANS - great running game, great defense....best team in division JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS - Ugly, but they keep winning INDIANAPOLIS COLTS - This team just isn't running on all cylinders right now HOUSTON TEXANS - Showed heart against Jacksonville....but they got nothing
AFC WEST SAN DIEGO CHARGERS - This team is up and down..but you can't go wrong with LT DENVER BRONCOS - Great offense, defense is horrible OAKLAND RAIDERS - Russell sucks....the only thing good about this team is McFadden KANSAS CITY CHIEFS - LJ wishes he would have gotten that trade he wanted.
NFC EAST NEW YORK GIANTS - The Champs are still the champs WASHINGTON REDSKINS - No turnovers through 4 games. Big win AT Dallas....this team is tough DALLAS COWBOYS - too many mistakes to be the best team right now PHILADELPHIA EAGLES - Bad choice to run it 4 times from the 1...should be 4-0.
NFC NORTH GREEN BAY PACKERS - Emotional loss to TB... CHICAGO BEARS - Defense is suspect......for now MINNESOTA VIKINGS - you can't just run the ball...get some offense DETROIT LIONS - Detroit fans must HATE Matt Millen
NFC SOUTH CAROLINA PANTHERS - This team is impressive..plain and simple TAMPA BAY BUCS - Very tough team....good for Matt Bryant....God bless his family. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - If they can stay consistent, could be a force ATLANTA FALCONS - With a good running game, it can make the rookie QB look good
NFC WEST This whole division sucks.....

Also, Seriously, people need to get off the Miami is such a horrible team gag.
They nearly beat the Jets, Beat New England, and are neck and neck with San Diego, I can imagine all you saying San Diego choked if Miami beats them today...
Last Year, Miami in there 1-15 Year, nearly had all it starters injured, not to mention, they played 10 playoff teams last year

Yes, the Fins are much better than the cheifs. With "Big Tuna" calling the personal shots, they will get back to the top of the AFC soon.
The 49ers are playing for their coach. They don't some new coach coming in and cleaning house. If the Seahawks can get healthy wideouts, they could be the team. The d for the Seahawks leads the NFC in sacks and that will win help any team win.
I think the age of the Pats are starting to catch up to them and Castle can't throw the ball as far as Tom Brady so Moss isn't having a crazy year again.
I'm really starting to dig the Panthers and the Ravens. Flacco is showing he's no "Average" Joe. But the QB he reminds me of, Big Ben, is putting the Steelers on his shoulders and winning. How? I don't know...but they keep winning games they should lose.
Plus I think I jinked the Browns. That D is terrible and Anderson is still feeling the hit that knocked him out durring the preseason.
I think the Broncos have no D so the Chargers will still win the AFC West. That's my football rant of the week...

ATL, is 3-2, and Turner is a ****ing beast... and Ryan is doing a good job managing the game, he did throw a pock off an easy fade route, but they won it in the end.
And WRs are FINALLY doing some damage, I was always a fan of Jenkins and Roddy is coming along nicely, now if they can fix that problem of dropped passes, ATL could make some noise int he NFC South.
And the Ravens got robbed...
