www.nbc.com/Knight_Rider/video/episodes/I'm not really buying it having seen the two hour pilot and this first episode where they redo the same plot as the original and Michael Knight's son becomes Michael Knight after being shot and announced dead. But that's not the worst of it, even if for a moment we ignore the fact that this KITT has nothing on the original (transforming into a Jeep does not impress me, you newb!), we have the most unrealistic scenarios such as the car being set on fire and everyone stripping to stay cool as they rush back to base in time inside the flaming car, though the chick was hot and well worth watching in her bra and panties! The plot doesn't hold together well for me, some guy who is 'the package' apparently has some secret code in his DNA and gets his thumb chopped off and Michael must retrieve the thumb whilst trying to piece together his past and avoid it at the same time. Add to this the jilted ex fiance love interest (the hot woman in the bra and panties) trying to deny her feelings for him while he's trying to win her back and it all seems rather meh. Oh Val Kilmer, you failed at Batman and The Saint and now you destroy yet another childhood hero of mine! Is there no end to your treachery!

whoa...whoa whoa whoa
Now I will not begin to defend this new incarnation of Knight Rider, but I will defend Val Kilmer.
First of all, Kilmer did not kill Batman, Clooney did. End of story. Kilmer is responsible for some of the best roles in history. Ever seen Tombstone? Kilmer portrayed Doc Holiday beautifuly, seriously I forget how bad ass Kurt Russel is at times because I am in awe of how bad ass Kilmer is in that movie.
Now, we can move into Wonderland, where Kilmer plays John Holmes, to perfection. Kilmer is brilliant at being non fictional people. Don't blame Kilmer for people thinking Knight Rider would be big, blame America for being stupid.

When I heard Kilmer was in this show, I cracked a huge smile.
Not because I like him.
But just the throught of him riding in Kitt, with that **** Eating Grin he always has on his face.
