{To set the scene for you, it’s Sunday, March 22nd. It’s only a couple of hours before the biggest show of nCw’s existence is about to begin. Sovereign is the event, and it features nCw’s top match, the match every wrestler and every fan dreams of being a part of, The Coliseum. Six men are about to compete for a world title match, one of them is Adam Knite who stands in his locker room silently sitting in a locker with his eyes closed. Adam takes a deep breath as he is blocking the distractions of the outside world from entering his head. This match has been in control of every one of his thoughts and dreams for weeks and now the moment is here.}
Kelly: Adam, you ready for tonight?
{Adam’s girlfriend and CEO of nCw, Kelly Fox, walks into the room. She’s wearing a woman’s skirt suit and has a big smile across her face. She has done everything she could to make sure Adam walks away with this victory. To the point of even asking members of the match to possibly lay down if the opportunity presents itself. Adam still has doubts, but he’s accepted his role, he’s agreed to do whatever Kelly wants because he never wants to risk losing her again. Adam opens his eyes and smiles just at the sight of seeing hers.}
Adam: I’ve waited my whole life for this.
Kelly: And you’ve deserved this for a long time. Finally we get our chance.
Adam: We?
Kelly: Yes, you and me. You winning this match, and you winning that belt… that’s everything we could have ever wanted. You’ll be my champion, and we’ll finally be in total control of this company.
Adam: What about the rest of the Revolution?
Kelly: Yeah yeah… their dream too and stuff.
{Kelly walks over to Adam and sits next to him, she takes his left hand and holds it in both of hers, she looks up into his eyes and at that point Adam is lost.. nothing but clay for her to shape.}
Kelly: Don’t forget Adam, you’re the one who earned this, nobody else in this match deserves this, not a single one of them. It’s all you. Don’t let your ideas of loyalty or whatever get in the way of the fact that you’re the one who needs to lead nCw from this point out. It’s all you, Angel and Burns… they’re nothing but your faithful followers. They knew what this Revolution was about from the very beginning. So go out and win this match, then go out and take that World title, not for the Revolution… but for me. Anything for me right?
Adam: Right.
Kelly: Ok then, I have to get out and do some PR stuff, and get ready for the show.
{Kelly leans up and kisses Adam on the lips.}
Kelly: Love you.
Adam: I love you too.
{After Kelly stands up from her spot next to Adam, Adam stands to his feet and stretches for a moment before looking at the clock on the wall. He sits back down.}
Adam: Still have a couple of hours left…. There’s no backing out now.
{Adam puts his elbows into his knees and his head falls into the palms of his hands as he stares forward. The camera pans around and gets right in front of his face. Adam licks his lips before taking another deep breath and proceeding to talk.}
Adam: In every professional athletes career there is a moment that defines their existance. In most cases they only get that one chance to make everything different to change their destinies forever. Some fail with their chance and their fortunes are forever marred with the bad instead of the good. Just look at Bill Buckner, he’ll forever and will always be known as the man who let that bell go between his legs. Forget the fact that the rest of his team let the Mets come back and tie the game before that moment, it’ll always be him who is remembered for losing the game. His moment was that one mistake, in only three seconds he had changed an entire career of solid play into a single ground ball…. Nothing else mattered before that moment and nothing mattered after that moment, he was branded.
This Sunday is one of those moments. It’s a chance, an opportunity to turn your entire career into something meaningful. All six men in this match will be going after that one dream of becoming a house hold name of becoming more famous than they could ever imagine. Just look at who won this match last year, Dave Holland. He had an outstanding career until this match, but when he won this match, when he earned that shot he was no longer a great wrestler he was a legend. He road this win all the way into the hall of fame and never looked back. Us, the new six men who have been given this golden oppertuinty want the same dream… to have our names scrolled up in lights, shining bright for everybody to see.
You don’t go into a match like this thinking of anything but a victory, there is no “good performance” there is not “nice try” it’s all or nothing because if you don’t get that one pinfall… you’ve failed. So you have to bring everything you’ve got, you don’t leave anything in that ring you fight until every bit of your energy is used. Ask Holland what it took to walk out of this match with his hand raised, I was backstage I saw him, he could barely stand, he was that drained of just everything. This year will be even more so. Not only do we have six men who want that world title shot, we have the Revolution squaring off with the Resistance’s Overdrive. You want to talk about passion, and desire, just look at this match. Six men who have their eyes locked in on a world title, three men on each side who just can’t stand the other three men on the other side. You want to see what wrestling is about, what the Revolution has been talking about this entire time.. make sure to watch this match, make sure to see every second because you’ll see more fire and passion in this match than you’ve seen in ever nCw match combined so far this year.
That’s what this match means to the Revolution. It is the epitome of everything we stand for, of everything we’ve dreamed about. You’ll get a first hand view of everything we’ve wanted, and finally we’ll get to display the very essence of everything we’ve fought for. This is our moment, this is our dream, and we’re not going to have the resistance ruin this for us… ruin this for the fans or anybody in the back. It’s time for our message to pierce the brains of everyone around us, to seep into their minds.
AJ Phoenix, he can’t win this match, he doesn’t have what it takes to be ont he top of the mountain, look at how many times he’s squared off one on one against just Angel and he’s lost. Look at when he faced me last month at Cross Roads, the facts are in the biggest matches… AJ Phoenix crumbles and fails to perform. He can’t handle the pressures of a match like this, or a situation that has everything on the line. If he can’t handle the pressures of an X-Division title match or the pressures of a Texas bull rope match, what makes anybody think he’ll be able to perform in a match of this magnitude. Some people do their best work when the pressure is on, with their backs against the wall they come out fists flying an fighting. Phoenix, h e isn’t one of those guys, he’s the person who does his best work when his mind is free, when he can be cool, relax and just do what he does best. The Coliseum is not that type of match, the Coliseum puts all of us inside a cage and tells us…. “now win or go home empty handed”. There is pressure in every inch of that match, if you don’t win you don’t get anything, if you don’t win you are merely forgotten as a competitor in that match… the Coliseum is all about that World title match, it’s what every other man wants and in this situation, Phoenix will fail…. Just like he’s always done in these scenerioes.
Of course there is also JFK, the esteemed former leader of the Corporate Empire. The man who pretends to always be in control of the matters at hand. He likes to act like some master kingpin who is always cool and collected. The man who is too cool to be worried about anything that is in front of him. I say, take that act and go home. Anybody with two eyes in their skull can see through the façade that JFK holds around him, anybody can see right through his clever disguise. He is the holy grail of everything that is wrong with nCw, he is the pinnacle of the filth we’ve been trying to rid from these hallowed halls. Do you really think he cares about nCw? Do you really think that anything he’s done so far in this company had any other meeting than to put himself in a position like this. He didn’t work to be in this Coliseum match, he didn’t bust his arse every second he could, no he stuck his neck somewhere it didn’t belong and now he’s suddenly in a position to possibly win a world title shot. He knew by challenging the Revolution he’d gain instant success, he’d be put right back into people’s conscience and he could climb the ladder without ever lifting a finger.. pathetic.
Now can you see? Can you see what the Revolution has been preaching about for so long, about wrestlers trying to gain stardom without putting in any of the work? Explain to me why JFK is back? It’s not because he loves nCw, if he loved nCw he wouldn’t have waited this long to be a part of it again, he wouldn’t have waited until AFTER the Revolution took over nCw to show his face. Where was he when we were climbing through the roster leaving a path of bodies behind us as we went? Was he there to protect nCw then? NO! At least Phoenix stood up before all was lost, atleast he challenged us after we had already destroyed Trent and Spike. Phoenix took a position that nobody wanted because they saw what we had done to the others who had come before him… all JFK did was mooch in on an opportunity… what he’s always done. He’ll never give a damn about nCw, he’ll never give a flying crap about anything or anybody but himself, and that’s why he’ll fail. If you think JFK is walking out of this match with a world title in his grasp.. then you’re just fooling yourself. He doesn’t have the fire or heart to win this match, and to make matters worse he dragged his brother into the middle of this fight, into the middle of something neither of them have any business being in.
MGK, when I saw him running to the ring my first thought was… “who is that”, and you wanna know what everybody in the arena was thinking at that moment? They were saying “who”. You wanna know why? Because nobody cares about MGK, I think five people even knew who he was. Aj and JFK’s big plan was to unleash on the Revolution somebody they had never heard of? Yeah that sounds like a great idea, sorta like if an army went to war with only water pistols… sure it will surprise everybody, but really what does it accomplish? In the end you just look like a bunch of morons carrying water pistols. Just like the Resistance will ultimately look like fools for dragging MGK into something that doesn’t concern him. This war is about nCw, it’s about our love for this company, so why is MGK here? He’d never been a part of nCw, this place was open for well over a year before he finally had the grapes to sign his name to a contract. That sounds like somebody who really cares about this company, that really sounds like somebody who is willing to give it their all to protect this place. Ha.
That’s your precious Resistance for you, always looking out for what’s best for them. Always trying to get ahead in this business with cheap tricks and shortcuts. The Revolution, will show them what it takes to be a true competitor, what it takes to give everything they have to just win one match. This is the defining moment of our Revolution, the time we’ve been waiting for, for all these months, where we show the world what we’re all about. If you think we’re going to give that up, you’re out of your mind. They can throw every MGK or JFK in the world in front of me, but I will not slow down, I have my sights set on one thing and one thing only, and that’s that beautiful gold belt. That’s all I can see… that’s all I want.
I’ve been dreaming about this moment for so long, for so many years now. You don’t realize how much I love nCw, how much I care about this company. I was in the oringal version, where I gave everything I had in every match I was ever booked in, only to be screwed over by the Boone and Rigdon management, dozens of times. I was used like a puppet for their plans and their desires. When it came time for me to get what I was owed, I was always told… another time… another day… maybe next week. It didn’t matter to them that I put my body on the line with reckless abandon every time I stepped into that ring.. no it only mattered to them that they got what they wanted…. Money. Those many years ago, the seeds of this Revolution were already planted it in my mind, it only took Lance opening my eyes so I could see the truth that was right in front of me. I looked back and saw how they had gotten ahead and how this company, this new nCw was falling down the same path and I couldn’t bear it any longer, I had to do something! Now I’m here, and I’ll get my chance to finally be the foundation of nCw, to finally have everything I’ve ever wanted. Kelly at my side, and the world title around my waist.
Why not Angel or Burns you ask? Why can’t they step up and be in that position? Because I say they can’t. I’m the leader of this Revolution, I’m the puppet master pulling on the strings of my marionettes. Burns and Angel they work for the Revolution, they know their place in this organization. In knowing their place, they know what’s best for not only the Revolution but what’s best for nCw, and what’s best for both entities is me. Me being in control, me sitting in the throne as champion, and me ruling over this company molding it in my image. It’s I who represent everything that is good in wrestling, everything that the fans, the rookies, and even the veterans should thrive to be. I work for everything I’ve ever received. I’ve busted my arse for every accomplishment I’ve been awarded, and this match, this goal is no different.
When is the last time you’ve seen a man defeat three former world champions in three matches in a row?! I did… Trent Helms, Steve Awesome and Xavier Williams all fell by my hand in three consecutive matches. Is that sitting back and demanding a shot like this? Is that following JFK and MGK and riding the backs of the people who paved the way into this match? NO! That’s reaching out and grabbing the damn opportunity by the throat and taking it! That’s how I’ve earned this shot and that’s why I deserve this victory more than any man in this match! Angel and Burns they are great team mates, they are great servants, but they aren’t championship material, they’ve been given their chances… Burns in two Road to the Gold tournaments and Angel against Steve Awesome. They failed, and failed miserably, and I’m sorry if it hurts, but sadly they just can’t cut it. That’s why nCw needs me to stand up and take this match, to become the beacon of hope for everyone to set their eyes to.
nCw needs Adam Knite. nCw can’t survive without me winning this match, it will crumble if the Resistance members would get their hands on the main event of A Night to Remember, and if Angle or Burns where to walk into that match, I don’t know if I could trust them to go in and win the belt away. I have to be the one, I’ve been chosen to bring nCw into a new era of wrestling, to make things better and more exciting. I can’t let the fans down, I can’t let nCw down. That would be worse than anything the Resistance could do to this company , far worse…
To come this far only to fail? That would be my legacy, my defining moment. Like Buckner, my entire career up to this point would be completely moot and forgotten, all anybody would see was this moment where I can so far to only fall on my face. I can’t let that happen, I won’t let that happen. Everything I’ve worked for… it all comes down to this, my one shot to make a difference to see my vision come true. I will not walk away empty handed, not now. I will take that crown and put it on my head and wear it with pride, the fans in the crowd want to see it happen, the wrestlers in back want to see it happen and I will make it happen for everybody who has ever dared to dream differently from the masses. Anybody who has ever had the guts to be different, they can look at me and see how to do things “the right way”. The Resistance will be gone, the Revolution will be gone, and all that will be left is utopia… finally.
This Sunday, it will be Six men, all wanting the same thing. This Sunday it will be six men trying to tear each other’s heads off, This Sunday it will be five losers who’s dreams will remain just that… dreams, five men who’s legacyies will be tainted by this loss, and five me who will fail to make a difference. However, there will be one man who will be living his fantasy, one man who just made the defining play of his career and one who will have that life changing victory. That one man, will be Adam Knite….. Deal with it.
{Adam looks over to the clock on the wall and checks the time one more time. He sighs and stands up and jumps in place for a minute and swings his arms across his body loosening up. After several deep breaths he smiles a menacing grin as he looks into the camera one more time.}
Adam: My time is here… get ready for the Adam Knite era. Get ready for the greatest show of your lives.
{Adam continues to smile as we slowly fade to black and get ready for Sovereign to begin.}
