Chimaira-The infection
Track listing
1-The Venom Inside 2-Frozen In Time 3-Coming Alive 4-Secrets Of The Dead 5-The Disappearing Sun 6-Impending Doom 7-On Broken Glass 8-Destroy And Dominate 9-Try To Survive 10-The Heart Of It All 11-Revenge(bonus track)
Awesome slab of metal. I've always liked Chimaira but they're last album was lacking for me but this one just screams out. All the songs are brutal as **** but somehow remain catchy. The heart of it all is a ten minute long prog influenced instrumental that metallica would be proud of. Mark Hunter spits his vocal lines with venom and anger, Rob Arnold and Matt DeVires throw out chunky riff after riff with soime awesome melodic undertones and solos, everyone is on song here including drummer Andols Herrick.
A great album and totally worth a listen to those into metal and not yet aquainted with Chimaira, or for those people who heard Chimaira's debut disc "pass out of existance"
10 out of ****ing 10

Metal or screamo?
I heard a few tracks you linked me on youtube...riffs pwn...but god I hate the screaming...a little is fine but the whole song...gets old. Can't hear what he's singing about...Screaming used to be a "message" type thing for certain bands, now it's just a trend and cuz you can't hear the lyrics and need liner notes, you don't know what a song is about...or if it has any meaning.

I bought the album when it came out here in the US and I love it myself. Each track gets better imo right up until the end. Sorry, I suck at reviewing, just seconding AJ here.

I've always been on the fence with Chimera, never really loved them but never hated them either. However they're cver of The Roof (Is On Fire) is definatly a song to mosh the **** out to.
I'll probably download this and then if I like it (notice I said if I like it, not if it's any good eh eh eh?) ahem...yes, if I like it I'll spend the cash to buy it.
