"So, what do you think Doc?
"Based on what you told me, she sees in you the same fundamental light everyone else does. You said that you wanted to start living for yourself, and you have mostly, but there's one part that you haven't gotten around to."
"And that is?"
"I'm a counselor, not a mind reader. But I have a hunch it's going to be something deep rooted. Something you've always denied needing, but you secretly want it.. and that's where all the fury comes from."
"I hadn't considered that. Hmm. That puts things in a whole new perspective. Seems he was right, as usual."
"He?"
"Well.. me.. Conversations I have with myself."
"Well, I should tell you to see a professional about that, but I'm just a counselor. So, you know what to do then?"
"Looks that way. Sorry it didn't last longer than three sessions."
"Don't mention it. I'm just glad we got through this together."
"Thanks for the help Doc."
"My pleasure, Mr. Braddock."

(He was late to leave. She was early to arrive. He exited the bathroom as she walked into reception. They both seemed taken aback by the others presence, but the shock quickly faded and they broke out into laughter.)
Falcon: Somehow I knew you were coming here. But I didn't know it was right after me.
Serenity: I never figured you for a therapy guy.
Falcon: I.. just needed someone to tell me what I couldn't see for myself.
Serenity: And I.. just needed someone who would listen to me. Like you would.
Falcon: Well, it looks like I've sorted out what I need to do. And that was your reason for leaving, so... shall we go?
(Serenity bites her lip, hesitating.)
Falcon: Don't worry about me darlin. I know what I'm mad at, and by this time next month, I'll have found my outlet.
(She stares at him, looking into his eyes to see if he's really sincere. Finally, she nods and hooks her arm in his.)
Serenity: Done deal.
(Exit.)

That was yesterday...
I broke all of the old ring gear out of storage. Amazingly it all still fit. Man, back then I thought I was all impressive. I was gonna look so scary, decked out all in black and red like some kind of satanic priest. Of course, back then everyone had the same ****ing idea.
Everyone was out to be scary. Everyone was out to try and intimidate. I ran with it for a while, but in the end, I realized that I needed to be different. A lot of people have claimed lately that I'm unremarkable. But we all know better don't we?

WAKING THE DEMON
Where'd you run to?
WALKING IN SHADOWS
Watch the Blood flow
There's not much longer so don't try and fight
Your body's weakening, Walk to the light
Those painful times, So Alone, So Ashamed
I'm not coming back
There's nothing to gain.
