*The scene fades into some footage dated 6/15/08 - Picture Perfect 2008 in the bottom right hand corner of the screen...*
~The Ace climbs to the top turnbuckle and...WRAPS HIMSELF in barbed wire! He climbs right to the top and stands up, mouthing to the fans. He imitates Spike Kane before diving off the top rope wit Spike's own trademark move the Leap of Faith! The Ace crashes hard onto the table, hitting everyone bar Davey Ortega who had the sense to move out of the way! The other three men lay in a bloody, sharp, painful mess covered in bits of table, barbed wire and blood. The Ace is tangled up with Reckonings wrestling shirt which is now ripped to hell. Reckonings shoulders are down so the ref counts. 1.........2......-no! Reckoning manages to kick out. Davey Ortega then grabs Hammond who isn't tangled up and whips him off the ropes. On the return Hammond slides underneath Ortega and to the outside, holding his ribs.
Willy Carter: My god...The Ace is amazing!
Eric Hardy: Look at the Hamster running away from the Genius!
Ortega then goes to untangle The Ace and Reckoning. He does so, but then Reckoning drops him with a drop toe hold. The Ace struggles aside unravelling the barbed wire off of himself. Reckoning gets to his feet and hooks Davey...oh my god, right into the shards of table..the Reckless Intent!! Davey Ortega's eyes all but slide into the back of his head, but Reckoning took too much out of himself it seems.
Eric Hardy: Holy crap.
Willy Carter: He just killed Ortega!
Hammond sneaks back into the ring as The Ace gets to his feet. Hammond crouches before charging right at The Ace he jumps up as The Ace turns, attempting to nail the Ace with the Mustang, but the Ace had scouted it, instead he pre-empts it and catches Hammond before driving him down with a dangerously fast and powerful powerbomb right onto the barbed wire!! Hammond arches his back in pain, before The Ace rolls him over and pins him......1.....Reckoning tries to move to break the hold......2.....Reckoning dives.....but misses....3!!!}
Willy Carter: what the!? How the!?
Amber Ashe: The winner...and NEW nCw Xtreme Champion....THE ACE!!!
Reckoning has his hands on his head as EMT's rush down to help the fallen. Kathy runs down with them and slides into the ring as the ref hands the title to The Ace. The Ace turns as Kathy jumps at him he catches her and she wraps her legs around him. He wraps his arms around her, one holding the Xtreme Title. They begin to kiss passionately, their heads moving drasticly fast. After a few seconds the fans begin to boo wildly, but they ignore them in all the heat of their passion as they play tonsil hockey with each other in the middle of the ring. Kathy whispers something to the Ace and he smirks before dropping to his knees and rolling out of the ring, clutching the Xtreme Title close to his chest. The two then walk up the rampway with their arms around each other.
Eric Hardy: Looks like our new Xtreme champion is about to go and get xtreme elsewhere, if you catch my drift. ~
*The scene then cuts to static before fading into a simple candle burning in otherwise total darkness, The Ace's voice is heard but he is unseen, our entire focus is the candle at this point...*
How ironic that in this time of light and celebration I am forced to sit here in total darkness with nothing to celebrate. For me there are no fireworks and no parades on this night, your independence night. Fate and irony clearly have a sense of humour don't they my friends? On the day of your independence from us, a British wrestler sits fighting for not independence, but a dependence. A dependence on a contract that should have never been allowed to expire, but that I guess is how it goes in the United States of Ignorance. 333 years have passed since you declared your independence from my United Kingdom, America, 333 years and nothing has changed. Without us you are a lost, obese, oil draining cesspool of a nation with a superiority complex. You still think you have a monopoly on the rest of the world. That is why nCw is fightiing for its own independence from me, in a war it can never hope to truly win.
*There is a considerable pause at this point as the crackling of the single solitary flame captivates our senses for a moment before The Ace continues his monologue...*
333 years later America leads its troops against the British once more, General Diamond has his front line, three soldiers ready and willing to fight for nCw, to overthrow the oppressor who is still a threat to many on the new talent initiative. Honestly I can see why Diamond thinks he's got the perfect combination behind him to retire me, Brock is the brain, Jackhammer is the brawn and Ramone is the heart. Collectively and in theory at least, they could be considered the perfect soldier to lead into battle, but only if they work together. They wont, as in life, so often there are cases when the head rules the heart or vice versa and the muscle well they are just there to be pulled in any direction you wish. In these situations then, so often mistakes are made, mistakes on which I can and will capitalise...
*The camera zooms in on the flame so it fills the screen*
I direct your attention back to the footage that opened this promo, I hope it at least got your attention guys. A year ago, things were not so different for me, a year ago I was in a fatal four way match with virtually no rules and for me that too was a must win situation in my eyes. You see winning that match meant my first ever nCw singles title - the Xreme Title, so I had to win. There was no other option for me. This year its almost entirely the same set of circumstances. This year's substitute for Ortega is JackHammer, because though they both have been here a long time, they hardly ever win a match. In the place of Jack Hammond this year, we have Chris Brock, both young men with potential but both slightly overated in the minds of the people in my opinion. Reckoning has been replaced by Steve Ramone, both men who have disappeared inexplicably from nCw. So you see boys, it appears that it is true when it is said the more things change, the more they stay the same...
*Suddenly the candle flame is extinguished and the footage from last year's Picture Perfect resumes...*
~Suddenly out of nowhere however "Trade Yourself In" By Shinedown begins to blare, the crowd erupts as Adam Knite comes walking out! He has Kelly Fox at his side and most people are puzzled to what's going on.}
Eric Hardy: What is Adam doing here, I thought he was suspended…
Willy Carter: He does have Kelly with him, maybe we're about to find something out?
Adam Knite: Hold it up there skippy, before you go celebrating, I think you need to see something…. You see for a good month now I've been ostracized from nCw because of something I have continually stated my innocence in. You see, I told everybody that I had nothing to do with the attack on Dave Ortega, I tried my best to convince Kelly, or lovely CEO, but yet, she said all signs pointed towards me.
Kelly lowers her head as if embarrassed as Jimmy Turner is dragged onto stage in by The General and his security team.
Adam Knite: You see, the second Jimmy Turner came forward a few weeks ago and pointed his fat finger at me, I knew something was up. So I decided to do a little intimidation of my own…. And finally I was able to get the truth out of Jimmy Turner…. Jimmy how about you tell the world who really attacked Davey Ortega and make sure Kelly hears you nice and clear….
Adam backs away and pushes Kelly close to Jimmy and has a big smile on his face, where Kelly looks like she's about to cry.
Jimmy Turner: It was……….ACE. He paid me to lie, he said it was the perfect plan and I had to help him. I needed the money I'm sorry….
The fans begin to boo as they throw trash towards Ace in the ring, holding his Xtreme title. Ace get thrown a microphone from ringside and begins to speak.}
Eric Hardy: What in the hell?! It was Ace all along!?
Willy Carter: I can't believe it…. Adam was telling the truth….
The Ace: **laughing** You finally caught me huh? What took you so long? You see, It was perfect, dare I say it was "Picture Perfect". I attack Davey Ortega, who we were planning on ousting from the Empire anyway, and you take the fall. I cost you your job for a month, and I cost you your tag team championship… and nobody believed you…. Not even y our precious Kelly… how does that make you feel?! It was indeed "Picture Perfect" for me.
Adam Knite: Well sonny jim, you may have pulled one over on me, you may have gotten your way this time…. But you don't know what you just got yourself into, because I'm about to take a months long worth of frustrations out on your sorry arse….
Adam takes off in a full sprint towards the ring, however Ace and Kathy duck away just as Adam slides under the ropes, and make their exit. "Trade Y ourself" By Shinedown cranks up again as Adam climbs the nearest turnbuckles and raises his arms to the crowd.
Eric Hardy: that was pathetic…. Ace cost Adam so much… for what?
Willy Carter: And how is Davey Ortega going to respond to this? He was led to believe it was Adam who had attacked him, now he has a double vendetta with his former Empire member… This is madness. ~
*The footage ends and the scene is returned to darkness with only The Ace's words filling the silence...*
This year as last I'm still the bad guy in the minds of these idiots, only this time it isn't Adam's career that has been put in jeopardy but mine and the same people that booed me for doing that to Adam then are cheering now that is happening to me. Perhaps because they see it as some form of justice, what goes around comes around after all, right? But I'm not worried, last year I defied the odds to capture a title, this year I will defy the odds again to reclaim my contract and then the real fun will begin. This is a game of numbers gentlemen and whilst the odds are in your favour, the numbers can be manipulated. 333 years on from your independence, two years in this company, the relationship between them is deceptively simple - 666 - the number of the Face of Satan, the number three and multiples of it I consider lucky, unfortunately for you three it will be bad luck...
*Slightly maniacal laughter is heard at this point before the words come again, ringing in our ears and demanding our complete focus and attention away from the darkness...*
You may think me mad to be talking with such assured confidence considering that I only have a 25 percent chance of victory in this match, but even that number has a place in our little gambit this Sunday gentlemen. See in 1967, six years before my birth, the third Brigade of the 25th Infantry Division placed death cards in the mouths of the fallen Viet Cong during Operation Baker near Duc Pho and Mo Duc. Similarly then, you gentlemen have been dealt a death card each for Wired and once you have fallen and I have my contract back, I too shall shove the death card down each of your throats and I shall do so in the same manner they did, using the same card. There is only one card for the job and it is the only card I need. You already know what card that is, don't you? Then I shall have reason to celebrate, then there will be light in darkness and then the real fireworks will begin, ignited by the flame of that single solitary candle you all thought was extinguished. Happy Independence Day gentlemen...I shall illiminate your lives shortly, but for now, I will simply leave you to consider the fate of those who fell in 1967 with a simple photograph...
*The following image comes on screen and stays fixed for several moments as a stark message to The Ace's opponents. Eventually the photograph fades to black, the black of the card of death that Brock, Ramone and Hammer had each been dealt...*
