(Shaddix is in an empty home. He knows what it is he is looking for. Something..anything that could possibly help him clear his name. He looks around and sees some pictures of his family on the wall.)
Shaddix: Wow, there is a picture of everybody in here, even some relatives I didn't know. Wonder what I can find here.
(Suddenly a familiar voice sounds in. Shaddix instantly recognizes the voice.)
Shaddix: What the hell are you doing here?
(The figure steps from the shadowed hallway. It is revealed to be Shaddix's second father, Steve.)
Steve: Look, you won't find anything down here.
Shaddix: So, you nearly killed me in the fire, and tried to kill me again when I came back, and now you are trying to help?
Steve: Look, I can explain.
Shaddix: Please do, I can't wait to hear your explanation for trying to kill me!
Steve: Calm down. Look, I was forced to do this. There was a guy, Wayne Collins. The man who was brought to the dinner by your uncle. He told me that he wanted you dead, no matter what. I don't know why. He told me to set fire to the house or he would kill everyone himself. That is why I told you to leave, I didn't want you to die if you didn't have to. He was watching when you came to visit me again, so I had to act angry and try to get you again, or at least make it look as so. I went against him and he told me that he was just going to handle you himself. I know that he killed your aunt and tried to frame you, but we have to find the proof.
(Shaddix looks amazed at what he just heard. He shakes his head in a confused way and begins to respond.)
Shaddix: Wow, just wow. I can't believe it. So, it looks like I do have someone left. It's good that you are here, I need all the help I can get.
Steve: Glad I can help. We should look in the attic. After the crime, most of the things in the house were put up there, including your aunt's diary. She never put that thing away, there has to be something in there.
Shaddix: Well, let's go.
(They walk down the hall and pull the stairs down for the attic. The dust clouds fall onto their heads as they step up the stair and into the attic. They begin opening boxes, looking for the diary.)
Steve: So, what have you been up to?
Shaddix: Well, I'm a pro wrestler now.
Steve: Wow, really. That's awesome. Are you any good?
Shaddix: I'm pretty good considering my competition. I have a match on Sunday against three other guys for a title. Two of which I respect but can't stand. One is just a loud mouthed punk who needs to be shut up. One in particular, Jack Hammond, I have exchanged words with. I think he is pretty good, but he just doesn't deserve the title, so I am going to win this Sunday and take it from him.
Steve: Sounds like some heated competition. I wish you the best of luck.
Shaddix: Thanks, I-
(Suddenly, sirens are heard blaring outside. Steve climbs downstairs and looks through the blinds. He sees two or three cop cars, with six or seven officers walking toward the door.)
Steve: Uhh, you might want to hurry up. We got company.
Shaddix: I almost have it, just a second.
(The officers start beating on the front door. Steve runs over and locks it as the officers begin to yell.)
Officers: Shaddix, come out now. We have a warrant for your arrest. We will be forced to break in if you do not open the door.
(Noise is heard from outside the door. Steve runs back upstairs into the attic. Then, Shaddix is searching through a box and he sees a book lodged in the bottom.)
Shaddix: Hey, I found it!
Steve: What does it say?
Shaddix: Hold on.
(Shaddix begins reading as the front door comes busting down. The cops rush into the attic and point guns at Shaddix.)
Officer: Just give up. We have got you surrounded.
Shaddix: Hold on wait. I have proof right here that I am innocent. Let me read you two passages from my aunt's, the victim's, diary. First:
June 7, 2007 5:23 P.M.
My husband has invited a friend to our family dinner. Interesting man really. He says his name is Wayne Collins. I don't know if he should be here, seeing as it is a family event. But, nonetheless, I am excited for the dinner. Should be very interesting.
(Shaddix flips the page and starts again.)
Shaddix: Now, here is the passage she wrote right before she died.
June 7, 2007 8:03 P.M.
Oh no. Something happened. I...Wayne, he. He...poison.
(Shaddix closes the old, dusty diary. He sets it down and looks at the officers.)
Shaddix: Well, that is more than enough proof right there that I am innocent. The guy your looking for is Wayne Collins.
Officer: Either of you know where we could find him.
Shaddix: Nope. I think you guys should leave now.
Officer: Okay, for now your innocent. But, we'll be keeping an eye on you.
(The officers step down from the attic and walk out the front door. The get in their cars and drive off.)
Shaddix: Wow, I am finally free.
Steve: Yeah. Well, I gotta go home.
Shaddix: Okay, I'll be back sooner or later.
Steve: Oh, and good luck Sunday.
Shaddix: Don't worry, now I can focus on the match and the title more than anything else. Hammond, I am going to take his belt. Xavier, I'll take his pride. Rob Diamond, I'm just going to beat him down.
(Steve nods and laughs as he steps out and leaves the home. Shaddix gets down and closes the attic. He steps out of the dusty old home. He steps over to his bike and gets on, knowing that what is coming next is Picture Perfect and championship gold.)
