~They say Music is a powerful motivator. There is a song for every mood in the world. There are songs to get you ready for as fight, to help you cope with loss, to remind you of your first love and at the same time, first heartbreak. Music is a universal language everyone can count beats, they know the lyrics, be it in their own language or their native one. It’s one of the few things that binds the world together. There are times in order to get the right motivation, all you have to do is turn on a radio~
We see Xavier standing outside of a brownstone. He sits down on the steps as some in the window starts playing some music, it starts out, “Days Without” by All That Remains, but it quickly switches and then it starts at a familiar song…
“I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America… CRASH!”
The tones of Eminem’s “Mosh” begins to play
Xavier starts to nod his head to the beat, he even bother to mouth some of the words as he has his eyes close looking down.
People have always asked me, why “Mosh”, why pick that, of the millions of songs you could use to describe yourself, you pick “Mosh”? I have to say, sitting here, listening to this… it reminds me why. It reminds of the feeling I have, the one of being a leader. The feeling of that not only am I counting on myself… my family… my kid, my wife… my fans… all of them counting on me. They watch their TVs with baited breath trying to predict my next move. It’s those times that when I’m in the ring and I’m ready to quit,, I’m reminded why I’m fighting… they hang on every word, they have reaction for every action I take.
It’s the feeling of being a leader. Not a champion, but a leader. For the past year, I’ve been basically looking back of what I’ve done. And outside of winning the World Title… I’ve done nothing. I’ve had to sit here and just hear, ‘Oh, Xavier is falling off’, ‘What’s going on with X?’… to be honest… I wish I knew. I keep looking for the answer and it just alludes me more.
Xavier leans back on the steps, he looks up at the sky… the sun is peaking out from behind the clouds as the shadows starts to appear around him
I can look at someone like Diamond and go… , ‘that’ That is the reason why I’m fighting now, but to be honest, it isn’t Diamond… is just like them all, like Angel was, Like Steve, like them all… they lack the honor. They lack the respect. They didn’t care about anyone but themselves. This business… is why I’m here today, it is why I fight. This business is the reason why I can put food on my table… keep clothes on my son’s back. Ever since the first days of my wrestling career at the ripe age of 18, I always told to respect this business. Respect the sport… and in the end, it will respect you and reward you. But I see Diamond a man with no honor… a man with nothing but arrogance, it reminds me why I spent all those sleepless nights worrying if I had money to cover the light bills. It reminded me why I hitchhiked across the South to make petty little indy shows to wrestle for only $200. Now it seems like chump-change, but to me it was everything. I look at Diamond and I see why I went through so much to get here, because I know that every step I take is one more to slap the taste out of his mouth… every day is just another step for me to get that… as Eddie Kingston put it, ‘that oh-so allusive happiness’.
The track ends… and the start of A7X’s “Bat Country” begins and Xavier gets off of the brown stone steps. He looks back at the door, he places his hands on his hips and just shakes his head as he sits back down, he has one leg propped on one step and other on the one bellow it. He elbows resting on the steps…
Caught here in a fiery blaze, won't lose my will to stay.
I tried to drive all through the night,
the heat stroke ridden weather, the barren empty sights.
No oasis here to see, the sand is singing deathless words to me.
I tried to drive all through the night,
the heat stroke ridden weather, the barren empty sights.
No oasis here to see, the sand is singing deathless words to me.
Where is he?
Anyway… But when I talk about those days of having just LIMITLESS hunger, I’m reminded of a 3rd party… Chris Brock.
Brock… you have all the tools, but do you have the skills? The skills to use said tools… and become, greater… a champion. As big a ****head Diamond is… he has talent, my accomplishments are painted on the walls… but do you have what it takes to rise up and win?
Of course you do… It’s obvious to me, I don’t have to hear it from anyone. I watched your match with Diamond and I saw something… I saw a fire in your eyes, but then I saw it get extinguished, via a kick to the dick… well… a punch. Something that has sort of became a signature of Diamond’s The only thing I have to say is… tough luck kick, **** can happen, it can and it will. You see I have no beef with you… I have no problem with you, well… not yet. The week is very new, and that can change in mere moments. This match is here… for me, to kick Diamond’s ass… title win or not, as long as I’m walking and Diamond is not. This has surpassed gold, winning isn’t enough, no… I’m out for destruction, I’m out for the late life abortion of Rob Diamond… the X-Division title is merely a footnote to me, now. Now, if it falls down on history or revenge… then we might have a problem… you stand in the way of my making history, but not my revenge. Decisions, decisions… so many to choose from…
Xavier rubs his chin as he checks his watch.
Am I looking over you, to Diamond? Yeah, you’re a target, but you’re not the big one, you’re not my big fat kill. But, like I said… I do have the chance of picking history and going for reign number 4… and while it does raise an eyebrow, I’m not falling too in love with it..
Again, for now.
A lot can change in 6 days, you never know.
The door behind Xavier opens and he stands up with a smile on his face, as his son comes running out.
Daddy!
He leas into Xavier’s arms
Hey champ!
He hugs him. He looks up as Bishop comes walking out from the house, X-Box controller in his hands.
Sorry it took so long man… I decided that me and little man get a few rounds of some Marvel vs Capcom before you picked him up. And you...
He points to Eric, putting his finger at his nose and he giggles
You, owe me a rematch…
Xavier puts his so down and slaps hands with Bishop
Thanks for looking out man. I hopped on a Red Eye and decided to spend some time here before I make the flight out
No problem man, RESPECT!
He does the fist to chest thing… (Ali. G reference)
Take it easy kid…
Eric grabs Xavier’s arm and they make their way to the car, he open the door and Eric hops inm Xavier goes to the other side, he stops as he listens out, Metallica’s “All Nightmare Long” plays in the background…
Then you crawl back in
Into your obsession
Never to return
This is your confession
Hunt you down without mercy
Hunt you down all nightmare long
Feel us breathe upon your face
Feel us shift, every move we trace
Hunt you down without mercy
Hunt you down all nightmare long, yeah
Luck. Runs.
Into your obsession
Never to return
This is your confession
Hunt you down without mercy
Hunt you down all nightmare long
Feel us breathe upon your face
Feel us shift, every move we trace
Hunt you down without mercy
Hunt you down all nightmare long, yeah
Luck. Runs.
Xavier smirks as he turns to enter his car, the engine roars and the car peels out… ending this promo here.
