Mac Bane stands atop the hotel on the penthouse deck by the pool, just relaxing and staring off at the arena where he and Nick Logan as The Syndicate will enter to do battle with Joe Everyman and Jack Hammond. Bane swirls his drink around stirring its contents so that it doesn’t taste quite so watered down.
Mac: Oh, how the mighty have fallen….Angel is pissed off at Burns…not that anyone blames him…everyone knows that Burns is the weak link in that team. Watching that team implode does my heart good. Dirty Deal? Who cares really, no one is taking them serious as they get yet another shot at the tag team titles. Hell why should anyone take them seriously, they don’t even take themselves seriously. Our partner in crime Jimmy Zane is kicking the crap out of that lame ass Ace. Let me ask you son, if you couldn’t beat me how in the hell do you expect to beat the son of The Punisher?! The King defends his crown in the main event against Bates, somehow I just don’t believe the crown will be changing hands that night.
Bane raises his glass in a salute.
Mac: Long live the king.
Bane frowns at the empty contents of his glass and hands it to one of the hotel staff who quickly replace it with a fresh one. Bane takes a long drink and in that action spots the clock on the wall….only noon. Bane shrugs it off.
Mac: Hell, its five o’clock somewhere right? By the way Joe, I saw your little low budget show…what was it called “Spotlight on America”? Yeah, I think that was it….anyway, just wanted you to know that Nick and I agree with you…about us being assholes…glad you noticed dumb ass. And on Sunday you will get to find out just how big an asshole we can be. Trust me when I say it won’t be over quickly and you two won’t enjoy it.
Bane takes another drink savoring the flavor of crown royal on the rocks and allows a contented sigh to escape.
Mac: Gibby contemplates retirement, Jimmy looks like he is leaning towards leaving The Syndicate so he can maintain his focus. I get that, I really do…me and Nick got your back no matter what you choose to do boys. So, that may or may not leave it as it has always been…Me and Nick Logan. Nick and I were the foundation stones of The Syndicate, there have been many versions of The Syndicate….all powerful groups….its the way it has always been and that’s the way it will always be.
Bane now focused on what he wants to say continues to speak..
Mac: Our group, or little band of outlaws as we have been called. We don’t go on recruiting drives to try and add additional members they come to us asking to join. We are a group of young talent that is climbing the ladder quickly. Don’t blink boys, if you do the next time you look you’ll have to look up and see us on top of that ladder with titles in hand. But, that we have been told is a ways out for The Syndicate that we have to earn our spot. Go out and prove that you deserve a shot at the champs. Hell, if that’s all it takes Mr. Foxx, then pay real close attention to our grudge match at Fallout….watch and be amazed at what a real tag team can do. Logan and I are a team in every sense of the word not a pair of singles wrestlers who can no longer win a title by themselves. Not a pair of guys who get winded half way through a match and have to tag out so they can rest. Me and Nick are in our prime and we will earn our shot, no matter how many teams we have to go through to get it!
Bane drains the remainder of his drink and sets the glass down on the bar.
Mac: I would say that kicking the crap out of Joe Everyman and Jack Hammond at Fallout will be fun. But, that’s simply not the case, its kinda like kicking a retarded puppy….while you may feel good about it right at first shortly after that the guilt of the act sets in and you feel absolutely awful! Its like this boys and girls…its hard to dislike someone like Jack Hammond, the hamster is damn near a legend around here and you cant help but root for Hammy because he is the underdog in every match he goes into because of his size. He’s a little guy who the fans really get behind even though his promos go in so many circles it will make you dizzy to the point of puking. Now Joe….Joe Everyman….he’s easy to dislike, even the fans hate your sorry ass Joe. The Syndicate are not fans of your work or your work ethic so hell its easy for us to hate you too. A lot of the time in this business guys will use what their opponents say as bulletin board material to help them get pumped up for a match, coaches in the NFL do it all the time, its part of the psychology of coaching. The Syndicate needs no such motivation to go out and kick the crap out of a couple of goofs that are in the way. We will go through you, Dirty Deal and anyone else that feels froggy to get to Burning Angels and those tag titles….don’t believe me? Hide and watch bitches! Some might say that is just my huge ego talking, but I say it’s the voice of experience and supreme confidence in mine and my partner’s ability! There is no doubt that egos and attitudes will be in that ring at Fallout…psychology is an amazing science. The ability to translate what a person is really about…what’s important to them…what makes them tick.. To really find out what makes something or someone tick you have to tear it apart of course…a messy business to be certain. In the end though…it’s true what they say….the bigger the ego….the longer and harder the fall. But it’s really not the fall that kills you….
Bane picks up two tomatoes from the bar and goes to the edge of the hotel roof. He looks down at the twelve story drop and then drops the tomatoes and watches until the splatter on the pavement below.
Mac: Its that sudden stop at the end.
Scene fades to black.
