A scene begins in total darkness. You see nothing, but the familiar sounds of children reciting the Pledge Of Allegiance can be heard in the background…..
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of he United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
A single spotlight shines down upon a man’s figure. He is wearing fatigues that only those who fought in the War in Iraq could obtain. He is standing still and very stoic. His head is looking down, and as the camera gets closer, he looks up.
“The Pledge of Allegiance. A familiar sound heard throughout classrooms all over America every day. Every line said in perfect cadence. But does anyone know what those words really mean? Allow me to educate you.”
He moves from his stance and pulls out a folder from underneath his jacket. He holds the folder in both hands, but does not open it.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. You say this, without realizing what you’re declaring your loyalty to. America is a country devoted to dominating the world. Killing anyone who gets in their way. A country who doesn’t care about you, they just care about your statistic, and how much money you give back to them, so you can help finance their bloodlust, their need for power and oil. Pay your taxes sheep. You know what you’re funding?”
Will opens his folder and pulls out a photograph. He looks at it and shakes his head. He turns it towards the camera, revealing a photo of a destroyed shack with dead bodies of Iraqis inside.
“This is what you’re funding. The deaths of the innocent. You are all murderers! Every single one of you. You know who caused this destruction? You! You know who had to carry it out? Me! I did this, because your government made me! The government that you fund and support! You made me do this!”
Will takes the picture, and walks out of the spotlight with it. After a few seconds, he walks back in to the light.
“One nation under god. Whose god? The Christian god? His son, Jesus Christ? It has to be that god right? I mean, he is the only god. Oh wait… there are other religions, right? I forgot about them, but apparently so has America. You pledge allegiance to a country that recognizes a specific god, yet calls itself a ‘melting pot.’ What about the Hindus? What about the Buddhists? They don’t matter to you do they? Why? Because they’re different. America hates anything that is different. Anyone who doesn’t believe what you believe is wrong and doesn’t deserve life.”
He takes a second to compose himself before continuing.
“It’s not specific to religions though. Oh no it isn’t. America is racist and sexist, and wants to separate everyone into categories, while trying to seem like they’re not doing it. Barack Obama? A sham of epic proportions. The government manipulated you into voting for a black man, so they could make it seem like we’re making progress. Barack Obama is a figurehead puppet who is being told what to say and what to do. We are not going to make progress until they want us to.”
He pulls a photo out of his folder. It is a photo our forty-fourth president Barack Obama.
“Let’s give him a proper send off.”
Again Will walks out of the spotlighted area, and returns a little while later, longer than the previous times, but he no longer carries the folder.
“On to the biggest charade, the idea of ‘liberty and justice for all.’ Liberty…… Justice…… Terrific ideas in and of themselves, but when are the principles of them going to actually take effect? Who gets justice in this country? Is it justice to the thousands of soldiers who signed up for the army thinking they were serving their country with pride, when really they were just pawns in a game where a certain former coke-head president of ours was trying to right his daddy’s wrongs? Is that justice? Justice is reserved for those with power, those with influence, those with money. You have no money? You get no justice. You get no liberty. The only rights you have as an American are the rights to be lied to and deceived, and the right to live there until you die. That is, unless you weren’t born there. In that case, you have no rights.”
Will takes off his hat, and holds it in his hands now.
“On to my opponent. Corey Shane. ‘The Human Suplex Machine.’ How effective will your suplexes be, when your arms are broken, and the best thing you can do is lie on your back, and hope that I pin you instead of destroying you? The only thing you can do, Corey Shane, is eat lots of vitamins this week, and say a prayer to whatever false idol you believe it. None of it will matter though. I show no mercy. I give no justice.”
Will walks back out of the light once more. At the sound of a click, the lights in the building turn on. It reveals a warehouse setting. As the camera adjusts, we see Will Washington standing next to a huge American flag. Will has tacked the pictures he displayed in his earlier speech, on the flag, along with various pictures of destruction the war caused in Iraq.
“I am not here to wrestle. I am here to teach you through physical abuse, and violence. I am not a soldier anymore. I am just a man. A man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Just like America, I will destroy anything that gets in my path.”
He quickly takes off his jacket, pants, and boots. He throws them in a pile, and then he rips down the American flag. He throws it, along with the photos, on top of his Army fatigues. He goes to a corner, and grabs a can of gasoline. He begins pouring it on the pile of discarded goods.
“I don’t care about wrestling. I don’t care about fans. I don’t care about anything other than Will Washington. I’ll be damned if I ever stop. I’ll be damned if I ever lose. I am going to eliminate, destroy, and obliterate anything and everything until I am the only one left. You can all join me, or be annihilated. I can save you all, because you all need saving.”
Will lights a match and looks at it. Then he throws it onto the pile he created, setting it ablaze. He looks at the flames, and then walks over, and switches the light back off. The room is only illuminated now by the flames, and by the single spotlight. Will walks back into the spotlight.
“Corey Shane. I will not be your savior. I will be your demise.”
With that, will walks away, and the spotlight goes out. The camera focuses on the fire, and the scene fades to black. And the same children from the beginning are heard…
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under god, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
