Kids playing the back porch as the camera pans into a room. Cari is sitting in sweat pants and a hooded sweat shirt. Her face is red, and puffy, she has been crying for a while, especially when the kids weren’t around. She was curled up on the couch, the phone on her ear as she spoke to someone,
She nods and smiles a bit as the person on the phone says something to her delight.
Cari looks concerned, and then shakes he head at the phone as if the person was really there.
A knock on the door catches her by surprised, she hangs the phone up. Making her way to the door, we only see Cari open the door, her jaw drops for a moment, as she runs outside, a pair of hands are shown wrapped around her waist, a face isn’t shown…
Xavier is leaning on the turnbuckle, sweat rolling off his brow. Standing in front of him are two average joe’s. One has a chair in hand, the other is coming in quick. Catching a knee to the gut, Xavier spits out in pain. Closing his eyes, he feels the contact of steel against his head as he falls to one knee. Hearing the chair rise, he rolls in between his two opponents standing up. Catching one with an shining wizard, he rolls again to avoid a quick chair shot.
Standing up Xavier spears the man with the chair, knocking it loose. He starts going at him with rights and lefts, a whistle is blown as Xavier turns and looks over at the trainer watching the match.
Xavier rolls over pulling himself up with the ropes. It was still early in the morning, but the way the gym felt it was like one o’clock in the afternoon. The old man leaned in his chair looking at the three men he was training. The two were younger than Xavier, but were being used to test him, to rub any rust off him, and get him fully ready for his x-treme title match. Xavier looked impatient as he stared at the old man.
Xavier looked taken back, and bit his lip listening to the old man.
Xavier stood up, glaring at Henry, who sat there and looked up at him. Xavier looked as though he was about to hit the old man. His two sparring partners stood up getting ready to restrain him.
Xavier’s chest deflated, and he looked down. Thoughts rushing through his head, he walked away from the old man. He returned a few minutes later with his bag and a towel over his shoulders looking at Henry, who smiled and nodded.
Sitting in his car he turned on the radio, it was playing the Boss’s “Born in the USA.” Shaking his head, Xavier leans his head on the steering wheel, looking as though he was saying a prayer. Leaning back tears streamed down his cheeks as he starts the car up, and drives away…
Cari stood their, being held by someone. The camera pans around to show Xavier Cross, still beaten and torn, but holding his wife in his arms. She was sobbing uncontrollable, as Xavier repeatedly kissed her. Landon and Belle made their way seeing their daddy in the door way they ran latching onto their parents leg. Xavier looked down, Cari starts laughing as the family stands there, as the sun light shines down.
The two share a kiss as the scene fades out.
The camera opens back up with Xavier sitting a bent metal chair. A bandage across his head, various bruises line his face. He smiles looking at the camera.
Xavier nods his head, and salutes the camera before it fades to nothing.

Cari Cross
“I know…its been way to long, we’ll have to catch up…yeah I can’t believe eight years today…”
She nods and smiles a bit as the person on the phone says something to her delight.
Cari Cross
“No…I haven’t heard anything from him, he really pushed us away this time, I hope he’ll be alright…”
Cari looks concerned, and then shakes he head at the phone as if the person was really there.
Cari Cross
“No…he’ll be home someday, I can’t bare to watch his match, but I’ve seen everyone since we got married, even when we went through our split up…I love him I really do…”

-Two Hours prior-

Old Man
“That’s enough…take a break…”
Xavier rolls over pulling himself up with the ropes. It was still early in the morning, but the way the gym felt it was like one o’clock in the afternoon. The old man leaned in his chair looking at the three men he was training. The two were younger than Xavier, but were being used to test him, to rub any rust off him, and get him fully ready for his x-treme title match. Xavier looked impatient as he stared at the old man.
Xavier Cross
“I ain’t paying you to sit around Old Man, we should be working right now…”
Old Man
“Mind your mouth boy, you know what today is..it is Semptember 11th, 2009, eight years ago our country was shaken up boy. And as long as I’m sitting here you will do as I say. And show me a little respect, my name is Henry…”
Xavier looked taken back, and bit his lip listening to the old man.
Henry
“You all know of flight 93...my son grew up with a young man, a few years older than yourself who was on that flight. His name was Tom Burnett Jr. 38 years old, a wife, three kids, and another child from his girlfriend a few years before. Tom was a CEO working at a medical supplies company in California. In his younger years he was an athlete, he played for his school football team and led them to a state semi-finals as their quarterback, our boys used to play ball together. I see a lot of parrells between the two of you Cross, his career was cut short by an injury, your basketball career was cut short by an injury. Yet you both rebounded and had successful careers, except you kept competing. Though this man put of a fight, you will never be able to match Cross. Calling his wife up, he talked to her, instead of staying on the phone with her. He told he her loved her one last time, and along with his fellow passengers, he fought. Not laying down and dying, he probably saved more lives than what were lost that day. A true Hero, I hear you talk so much Xavier Cross, about being a hero, about being some idol. You want to be a hero, look at Tom, he didn’t have a choice in leaving his family, he was on his way to provide for his family. You left yours. Learn a lesson Cross….Tom was a hero, you, you’re a coward…”
Xavier stood up, glaring at Henry, who sat there and looked up at him. Xavier looked as though he was about to hit the old man. His two sparring partners stood up getting ready to restrain him.
Henry
“You know as well as I do, that you’re not going to hit me…go get your bag, you got one more bit of training to do before you’re ready…and I think you know what it is…”
Xavier’s chest deflated, and he looked down. Thoughts rushing through his head, he walked away from the old man. He returned a few minutes later with his bag and a towel over his shoulders looking at Henry, who smiled and nodded.

-Back to present time…-
Cari stood their, being held by someone.
Xavier Cross
“I don’t need to be a monster….I need to be a man….”
Cari Cross
“You are my man, and their hero, and that’s all you ever had to do..”
The two share a kiss as the scene fades out.
The camera opens back up with Xavier sitting a bent metal chair. A bandage across his head, various bruises line his face. He smiles looking at the camera.
“I was wrong. I’ve focused this past week on becoming something of an animal, a creature. But I think back to what the Ace said in his first promo, what kind of man am I that I would leave my family behind. And I have to say Ace, you were right. In the mind set I had this past week I would have walked into the cage, as an animal, but a beast never accomplishes anything, only a man can succeed. I’m not asking for your respect anymore, any of you. You all have your own hopes, dreams, and goals. I stand in the way of all of them, and if you expect me to just roll over I won’t. I’m going balls to the walls, but if I win or lose, I already got everything I need. No more big talk, good quotes, intense songs, no more hitting myself, I’m content of where I stand right now. I’ll spend the night with my wife, kiss my kids goodnight, but nothing is going to change the fact that after this match, I’m coming back home, I’ll climb into a bed I share with someone I love more than anything in the world. I’m just more upset that it took me that long to realize it. So lets keep this short and sweet, to Ace, JFK, Jason, and Prophet. Good Luck, whether you take it, or not, and I will see you in the cage…may the best man win. As for me, its time to Man Up...”
Xavier nods his head, and salutes the camera before it fades to nothing.
