Charlie Smiles is at the gym again. Today, he is almost seen exclusively working on the punching bag. Something is eating at him. He looks irritated at himself and he even stops. He sighs and goes to a bench. The first look at his face reveals he still has his paint on. It's worn and sweaty. He is joined by his friend, Michael Faust.
"Whats on your mind punk?"
Charlie barely responds and hangs his head again.
"You really need to get out more. Expand your life to outside of this routine of showing up to work as the clown, goofing off in front of the public, then silently wasting all of your time excersizing and practicing and making sure you are in top shape for the people out in the crowd."
Charlie looked at Michael and was about to say something but he was cut off.
"You need a girlfriend."
Charlie smiled and shook his head.
"Well..."
"Listen, you and Jess split up so she could go with the modeling job and you wanted to stay with wrestling. It worked out for both of your careers...but..."
Charlie chuckled and leaned back.
"Ahh yes, the omnipresent and ever expanding butt..."
"But you've been miserable ever since and the last time you saw her was after that whole mask bit."
"Hey! Your the one who wanted to do the whole darker image bit."
"I know better than to say the clown thing is just as bad. You have your reasons, I know."
Charlie leaned forward and held himself up on his arms.
"The last time I let my personal life into my job...it made my life hell. A few days ago I slipped."
Michael nodded and sighed. He stood up and moved in front of his old friend.
"Listen, you're too wound up in this job, that's why it screwed you over. So, come on, what have you got planned for the match?"
Charlie's smile returned and the image of Freakke was almost completely there.
"Ahh, yes, the ace up my sleeve. Well, he's big, possibly slow, but terribly powerful. Getting caught up in a tie up will be the death of me unless I can out maneuver him or do something that plays his size to my advantage. He's a heel so I'm a little worried about weapons. I'm guessing it'll be a Be Quick or Be Dead situation."
Michael thought about this and crossed his arms.
"When they match us up is that how you'll fight me?"
Charlie grinned and shrugged.
"No. I'm not sure how to deal with you yet. I have to focus on then when then gets here. Now I need to focus on Now."
Michael smiled and grabbed his jacket.
"Go home. Relax, or you'll burn yourself out."
Charlie smiled and looked at his copy of the pre-show's card.
"Why do I always get the freaks?"
