WHERE WAS THE NO SHOW JOKES!!! WHERE!!!
JK, nice rp. The only unfortunate thing about both yours and Pav's...you spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME on your match from fallout...about 1/4 of his and 1/3-1/2 of yours. Definitely coulda been quicker. That said, everything else was pretty straight-forward Anti-Everyman. Just don't compare him to Ortega if you do a 2nd rp...he might get mad and explode your head with magic.

I liked the 2nd better than the first, though it could have been maybe one half a paragraph shorter, it was still better than the first...
now if Joe no-shows...I'm sure you'll feel bad for doing the 2nd

I'm ganna ask this one time, and one time only...can you please stop the no show jokes? OOC they aren't as bad as IC, because when they are in RPs, they are unneeded and out of place. The RPs were both good, but the no show joke just ticked me off some.

Well, I absolutely loved this roleplay.
It reminds me a little of stuff I used to write with Cam.
The whole if I win, I win... if I lose, I lose. Love it.
Not only did I get a great insight into the mind of Jimmy Zane... but afterwards you sorta feel sorry for the guy. He has a lot on his shoulders and while reading you can really feel the load he has to carry.
I thought this piece was fantastic. But I am only one opinion.
Keep up the great work!

Thanks. I struggled all week to try and find something to write about...so at about 1 this morning, I finally sat down and had something to say. I appreciate the positive feedback. It has been a tumultuous week.

I enjoyed reading your reply. You didn't really get person with Diamond back, but I think that's a good thing for your character. Jimmy Zane isn't the type of character to get personal and respond in that kind of way against a heel. Great job staying in character and great response. Gonna be a hell of a match to read.

"I GOT IT! OK, listen closely, Robbie. I am going to talk really slow, so even you can understand it. You see, when you were watching the ... magic picture box... you know, the thingy with the moving pictures. And you were seeing the Punisher in nMw. Those are called "re-runs". Now say it with me now...
RE .... RUNS."
I lol'd.
Great RP man, hilarious stuff but serious when it needed to be. Bonus points for the inventive insults, I'm not sure if its a word filter...but "smurf" seems to work either way. lol

I am definitely liking the more serious side of Jimmy Zane. I think your just starting to hit a stride this month, and anyone who faces you is going to have a pretty tough time. I don't have any real suggestions other than it was a solid rp, and keep'em coming.

Thanks....the hard part will be getting my 2nd one posted....wife and I are going to Austin Friday during the day, then to the Longhorns game on Sat, and out Sat night....
I might write it Friday night, and post the 2nd one up Sat before we head out... because I KNOW we won't have time after that...plus I might be too drunk!! HA HA HA

By way of context...I've never really been a fan of promo based rp's, so that might factor into what I'm going to write. Plus, it's probably not a fair criticism, because it was the first thing that I read by you. But,,,
The rp you did this week struck me as being kind of generic, and that made it kind of tough to stay interested in it.
It was well written, and certainly wasn't bad, but there wasn't anything in it that gave me an understanding of who this guy actually is, and or make me understand why I should take what he says seriously.
Might be just me, as I say, but that was my impression when I read the rp, and in my opinion it couldn't hurt to see a bit more of the character shine through.
Just my opinion, though.

While I understand your comments, the reason may be that you are brand new here, and are not aware of the character.
most of my RPs aren't promo based. I have a variety of styles, actually. However, as nCw likes to keep itself as realistic as possible, I like to hold to that mold. You wouldn't turn on WWE and find wrestlers in their every day lives walking around and having conversations, etc...
Plus, Zane is pretty much of a loner these days, especially that anyone and everyone he has ever had in his life have left him. He is proud of his heritage and where he came from, but he doesn't have the confidence to go anywhere and meet people.....
But like I said, you wouldn't know these things because you are new here and don't know the character.

A couple of points:
* I've seen plenty of storylines in wrestling which were based on conversations/storyline (Jimmy loves Lacey, anyone?). So it's hardly "unrealistic" for character driven rp's to be written, and for conversations to take place throughout the course of an rp. Different techniques work at different time, though...And I'm not saying that I haven't been blown away by promo based rp's in the past.
* Your character background is interesting, but I'd like to see how that affects the character and his attitude toward the matches, and I didn't see that in the most recent rp. And while I'm new, I have read other promos here, and elsewhere where you can get a feel for the character, his mindset, and what's taking place in his life, even in the form of a promo.
Anyway, that's just my impression based on that rp. I'm interested to see what you come up with going forward,
